At Tweeds we stock a wide range of competitively priced fuel storage solutions for domestic and commercial use. Whilst the most popular tanks are always in stock, we can order any tank in any shape or size from our local Northern Irish supplier, Harlequin Plastics. Oil tank installation is carried out by our in-house OFTEC approved technicians to ensure a fuss-free, quick, safe and top-quality job from start to finish.
Our delivery drivers carry out a visual inspection of your tank at the time of delivery and will make note of any cracks or splits which may give cause for concern on your delivery docket. Oil spills due to split tanks can be extremely costly to clean up and can cause contamination to ground water supplies or even building foundations of your home and any neighbouring buildings. It is therefore important to check that your home insurance covers fuel spills or leaks and whether there are any stipulations or limitations to your policy.
How do I know if I need to replace my oil tank?
If you are concerned that your tank may need replaced, these are some of the warning signs to look out for;
- rust (if a metal tank)
- splits or cracks
- subsidence on the base
- sudden unexplained increase in usage of fuel
- tanks overgrown with foliage
- a strong smell of fuel around the tank
- bleaching (where parts of the tank’s normal green colour has faded to a white colour)
If you think your tank is leaking or you have had an oil spill due to a split tank, please contact us immediately on 028 9338 2502.
